Stop local NHS cuts – demand a better service for Inverclyde
Our NHS services are suffering cuts that are meaning more and more people have to travel to Paisley and Glasgow for treatment. These cuts are unacceptable and are the result of a lack of resources from the SNP Government in Edinburgh.
In recent years, our maternity services have been downgraded, surgery services have been reduced, a review has been conducted of the ITU for the sickest patients and the Health Board’s “Moving Forward Together” programme is suggesting further changes to services.
Most recently, the Health Board announced that Accident and Emergency would no longer treat major trauma cases with Paisley and Glasgow becoming “major trauma centres”. No justification was given for why IRH could not be a major trauma service.
This comes at a time when our Out of Hours GP Service is frequently closed, in some cases for seven nights a month, and patients have to travel to Paisley overnight for treatment.
Sign our petition to demand more resources for NHS services in Inverclyde and an end to cuts to our services.
